CNET's always been my source for cell phone radiation news, and at some point they've released the latest levels for BlackBerry's. It's not actually radiation, but something called SAR or specific absorption rate. SAR is method of measuring of the quantity of RF absorbed by the body. In theory a lower number is better for your health, but without any scientific proof I've found that higher numbers seem to correspond to better signal.

The highest SAR rating allowed by the FCC is 1.6, and the newest CDMA BlackBerry the Curve/8330 clocks in at 1.54 W/kg, landing it in a 4-way tie for the third highest SAR. The Motorola V195s holds the top spot at a cool 1.6 W/kg.
The first-generation iPhone is a nice middle-of-the-road 0.974 W/kg, while the BB 8830 I'm currently carrying is a measly 0.63. Unfortunately I often carry a second BB, an 8130 which has a SAR rating of 1.48.
I'm not sure what the risks of 2.11 W/kg are, but I suspect it means that if I haven't been rendered sterile yet, my offspring might turn out like this fella.

The baby is fine now but later on if he finds out what happened, he will really have a reason to hate his parents during puberty!
