I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my home computer to IE 7, and because Windows Update couldn't restore a hidden update I had to download it manually. I got the usual "Try the Microsoft Download Center (and please please install Silverlight)" pop-up, but something was different this time. The font was horribly blurry, text flowed out of the layout, and even the screenshot of the download center looked like it wasn't rendered properly. Blocks of text floating on a dark gradient background? I have no idea why the image didn't finish loading, I tried several times and it hung at the same spot each time.
